Behavior

Class Rules

1. Listen and follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Raise your hand before speaking or leaving your seat.
3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
4. Respect your classmates and your teachers.

Clip Chart

In our classroom we use a clip chart to keep track of student behavior
throughout the day. If a student breaks a class rule, or is misbehaving they are
asked to move their clip down one space. Students begin at the top of the chart
on orange each day. The colors are as follows:

Orange – Terrific Tigers!
Green  – Think about it
Yellow – Try something new
Blue – Time Out
Red – Tiger Turnaround Station (TTS)

Consequences

1. Warning – Move clip to green
2. Think About It – Move clip to yellow (Time out in our classroom/Write a note home)
3. Time Out – Move clip to blue (Time out in another room/ Phone call home at the end of the day)
4. Tiger Turn Around Station(TTS) – Move clip to red

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is a tool that allows teachers to track student behavior throughout the school day. Students may either earn points, for positive behavior, or loose points, for negative behavior. When parents sign up they will automatically receive an update on their child’s progress every Friday.

PBIS

On the first Friday of every month, our school throws a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) celebration for all the students who showed positive behavior for the entire month. Our classroom clip chart system plays a large role in determining who will attend these celebrations. Students must have no more than two yellow days and absolutely NO blue or red days.
